Hey! So Glad You're Here.
My name is Becca Benson and I am a secondary English Language Arts teacher. My pronouns are she/her. I am a recent graduate of Hood College in Frederick, Maryland where I earned a B.A. in English and secondary education with a concentration in literature. Currently, I teach 7th grade English Language Arts. Prior to my time as a certified teacher, I spent several years working in theater and dance education through different organizations.

The intent of this blog is to share my experience as a first-year teacher. It is also a tool of reflection that I hope will help me develop as an educator. My aim is to create a collection of resources and writing that will help both myself and others in our journey to provide the most meaningful education experience. I will also be exploring modern shifts in education and discussing the role educators play in our current society, with a focus on the importance of an inclusive education that is culturally responsive and effective for every student.
